    Can anyone shed any light on this statue?

    I have mentioned this before, as "my favorite thing", but not in any other context. The Metropolitan has a statue of the Virgin and Child, under a bell jar, which needs to be seen from all angles.

    Your is similar.

    If it's unglazed, I think it's Parian ware?

    I'd say Parian Ware. 19th C and lovely quality. I don't think it's British, looks Austrian or German to me.

    Lots of parian ware on the net, but I didn't find yours....you might have better luck.......hopefully.:cat:

    It is stunning, Johan, and a very charming scene. I agree, 19th century and from the costumes I think German.
