Berkey-Gay dinning Set For Sale

This set will be sold soon. we are attempting to determine value. We know it was purchased in about 1940. It is in very good the excellent condition.

Value really depends on where and how you intend to sell. You may find this thread on a different B&G set of interest:

I don't see your set as desirable as the set in that thread so worth very little in Podunkville. You would have some value in or near a big city.

 

Odd... I like the set in this (Mehntor's) thread MUCH better than the set in Mike P's thread. This one has a simple elegance when the other one looks clunky.
Mehntor, if I were looking to buy a quality vintage dining set, I'd be willing to pay $300-$400 for yours, assuming it's in great condition. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for the other one, but that's just me! I tend to be quite miserly.
Anyway, this goes to show you that different people like different things. If it were mine to sell, I'd throw it on Craigslist/FB Marketplace for $500 and see what happens.

EDIT: I simply love the design on the chair splat!

 

For modern tastes, this set may prove to be more popular. As an example of Berkey and Gay's workmanship, the other is superior.

While you see simple elegance, I see mousy restraint. I am a fan of simple elegance but think this set misses the mark in that regard. Give me art deco or MCM for simple elegance.
