    Whyever not?:hilarious:

I'm not fully awake yet, so I first though it was a fan (of course). Rare old model, with that angle. So nice of Davey to think of me.....:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Hmmm, let's see what I have in my purse.
I can dream of having that much money.

I wonder where the reserve is on that one, but not enough to bid on it.

Sent the link along to tease a friend who deals in coins & engraved gems and also has a thing for St. Gaudens. He said he'd settle for this one. Story of how they came into being is amusing.

Davey's link is up to six million US and reserve still not met. I won't be bidding on this, but would cheerfully take the four million pounds currently bid if someone has that much to throw away.

in 2002 someone paid $7.59 million for just one, dated 1933

The two intentionally spared coins are in the US National numismatics collection, ten others are held in Fort Knox and the one remaining recovered coin was sold in 2002 to an anonymous private owner who paid $7.59 million for it—the second-highest price paid at auction for a single U.S. coin.

I think he put a really high reserve on them to draw attention to his other auctions he had listed which were only in the lower hundreds of thousands and 5 figure sums.
Although they are not showing in Advanced / Completed Sales (to me) I think it worked.

Not sure if you meant you can't see any of 'verypq's completed sales or just the ones from the same time. Here's what I get, ordered with priciest first. Sure moves a lot of stuff.

He does not ship to the UK, so the completed auctions are not visible

Did not know this. Weird to let you see the listing with currency conversion but not seller history.

Someone sent me the eBay number of that auction and I saved it on my account.
When I viewed the auction it said in red lettering "Does not ship to the UK"
If I had searched for it would not have appeared.
I had to sign into eBay.com to view the other listings at the time.
When I click your link, it shows nothing sold.
