This thing is a lovely color and it's big - 10 1/2" tall, 10" from stem to stern, but only 3" wide.
I can't tell if it's new or old either.
It has what looks like a number on the bottom inside a rectangle.
    Does anyone recognize this item?
    What is it used for?

    Thanks for the responses all!

Do you think it has a particular purpose?

I agree, very Post-Modern. Coincidentally @reader and I were discussing PM in another thread.

I love this watering can. TY for tagging me AJ. I think it’s PM too but I wouldn’t date it to 80s. I think it could be earlier. PM actually started mid century but exploded in the 80s. I’d call it Vintage Post Modern Blue Watering Can. I’d separate Post and Modern so Modern also comes up in a search. Calling it PM is a subjective opinion, calling it 80s is objective and could be way off.

I think the finishing and stamping is older than 80s but that’s just a gut feeling with absolutely nothing to substantiate my thought.

On my screen it’s closer to periwinkle as there’s a lot of purple in it. Cornflower IMO is a clearer blue but color on a screen vs reality…More purple…periwinkle, more blue, cornflower.

Best watering can I’ve seen in a long time!

This is probably all wrong, but I get a Harker pottery vibe.

Wow! Thanks everybody! I’m glad to know you all like it as much as I do!
Coincidentally, DDIL put indoor watering can on her Xmas list. She’s the one who has multicolor fiestaware dinnerware, supplemented by Hall refrigerator dishes and pitchers. I’m going to give it to her.
I’m going to write a little tag and put it inside so she can remember something about it, as “we” see it.

Just showed it to a MCM dealer I respect. He said no clue but agreed it looked older than 80s.
