Triangular scroll designs on the bottom of the rim alternate with the vignettes. A bold band of spearpoint under a dark band contains the border pattern on the cavetto.</p><p><br /></p><p>&quot;In the central scene on the large plate the curving stone steps at left lead to the arched entrance of an open square temple which is surmounted by urns. There are two people on the upper landing near the arch. A man is seated on the ground near the large newel at the bottom of the stairs. Two ladies stand at right talking to him.
