Bond Boyd sterling question

    498F1544-1F3C-451B-979A-D2D38D8925EC.jpeg I've got a couple of Canadian Bond Boyd sterling brooches somewhere and I remember seeing a more steely sort of finish on them. Were they coated on something to stop tarnishing? I thought I read somewhere it was a chrome plating on top of the silver but I don’t really know. I’m asking because my brother has bought a Finnish brooch with a similar look to the silver. Here’s one I found online.

    Rhodium plated I think:)
    Chrome is rather for base metal.
    Maybe @Hollyblue can say for sure!
