Featured Bone necklace. 18k clasp. Who,when, where?

This kind of adornment used to be all the rage ..

 

Somebody pulled a boner. (now I'm waiting for someone to jump on the opportunity I just put out there ... and of course just made things worse but....)

It may be gold, he just hasn't found the mark yet. The unusual elements could be gold too, just a bit dirty. Search every crevice for a mark, that's my advice. It really helps to persevere.

 

and Lord alone knows what that cording is made from; it could be green gold!

 

Or spun malachite, very rare.

The workmanship and quality is stunning! I think one of these came up at Christie's last year, sold for a record amount!

And while we're in the creepy body parts dept., here's another necklace with a potentially mysterious history:
Genuine Teeth Necklace, Not Human
Likely from a Philippine domestic animal. Wood bead spacers.
Length: 28" approx., no clasp. Teeth: 1 1/2" up. [The navy sweater is mine but I'm not in it, necklace is shown on a mannequin.]

Yea, but it doesn't have that stunning 18k clasp!

 

Now that would be an April Fool necklace, or better yet Halloween.

 

This one will double that, I can feel it in my bones.

@komokwa Do you know if there are elks in the Philippines? These teeth are too small to come from an elk. Perhaps a small deer, even a goat?

 

possibly......I haven't looked a Gift Deer in the Mouth.....for a while !!
