    It may be gold, he just hasn't found the mark yet. The unusual elements could be gold too, just a bit dirty. Search every crevice for a mark, that's my advice. It really helps to persevere.:D

    The workmanship and quality is stunning! I think one of these came up at Christie's last year, sold for a record amount!

    And while we're in the creepy body parts dept., here's another necklace with a potentially mysterious history:
    Genuine Teeth Necklace, Not Human
    Likely from a Philippine domestic animal. Wood bead spacers.
    Length: 28" approx., no clasp. Teeth: 1 1/2" up. [The navy sweater is mine but I'm not in it, necklace is shown on a mannequin.]

    @komokwa Do you know if there are elks in the Philippines? These teeth are too small to come from an elk. Perhaps a small deer, even a goat?
