A friend brought me this painting tonight that he'd found in a storage unit he'd won at auction today and offered it to me for $50 & threw in a limited edition Halloween Michael Myers talking doll (which I would have bought by itself for the $50 - it's cool!).
But there is one thing I don't understand - the artist's signature looks like a combination of letters & numbers?
Is this a factory art piece and that's just a inventory # or similar that they should have covered over with a indistinguishable signature?

I appreciate any help with this.
    Thanks!

    Really? Thank you komokwa!
What do you think of it? Amateur or established artist?
Here is another painting I got in deal (it's actually 2 larges pieces that go together) by a Slolik(?) - I don't know if they were worth it, but the limited edition Michael Myers doll made the purchase worth while!

I read Shahik, a Middle Eastern and Caucasian (Caucasus) name.
    It is a good painting.

It's cursive Hebrew. S. Feldmann or S. Peltzmann, depending if the 3-like character is meant to represent D (dalet) or TZ (tzadi). Also the last letter is weird as it should look very different when used in the end of a word.
