Great 'stuff' Kyra, and I guessed the shakudo piece as well. What else!:D
I'm in love with the bracelet. It could be older than you think, shakudo jewellery was already made in the 1880s, because the samurai had lost their power after the Satsuma Rebellion of 1877.
    She kyratizes it.:)

Not a specialist in japanese mixed metals...
Different overlays, silver, gold, copper on a dark base.
    Shibuichi seems a good term.

Put it again to be seen:

Often called 'Essex crystals' - the flamingo does look like a later molded glass, almost certainly Bohemian/Czech, but I'd investigate the little terrier face, might be carved rock crystal. Does the backing look like MOP - and what is the odd bubble at the bottom?

    Glad to see you!:happy::joyful:
And glad to hear the bracelet could be that old! I had a more "modern" feeling, perhaps because of the tongue of the clasp "handle" being rolled rather than square.

Kyratisation of my 61 old skin:rolleyes::

Not sure what to call it,photos can not show reality.Shibuichi is a silver/copper alloy, shakudo is a copper/gold alloy,is the back of the piece magnetic?

Yes, molded glass:) the dog is made as the flamingo, molded glass too!
I know well the so called "essex crystals", have some of them:)
No backing, only the metal mounting with a hole in the middle.
The odd bubble is... an odd bubble inside! The whole cabochon is full of imperfections:(

    Thank you Hollyblue.
The piece is a thin domed plaque, non magnetic.

If shakudo and shibuishi are only the names of the alloys, how to call this particular work? Always encounter it described as "shakudo", so I call it that:confused:

It could be mixed metals soldered on a Shibuichi base. There is probably a term for the process but I'm not sure what it is.The metal base looks to thin for a Zogan/Japanese damascene technique ... https://kogeijapan.com/locale/en_US/higozogan/

I did look up Japanese overlay and a lot of damascene came up wrongly described as "shakudo",looks like an over used word people copy from an internet source with no real knowledge.
