Brass and Copper Jugs with Porcelain Handles...Use?

I hope they were positioned in between draped lacy net curtains, the proper look.

 

Was intrigued by this on my trip to Holland. Everyone had some kind of plant display in their windows and the drapes were always open so you could see inside. Was told that the neighbors would wonder what nefarious activities you were up to if you closed your drapes. As free and open as the Dutch are, they seem particularly ridged about certain things.

To this day the curtains and drapes in my house are always opened. I do not understand why some of my neighbors have Venetian blinds closed covered with
curtains and drapes closed tightly. Some say they do not like the idea of someone peeking in their house. We live about 150 ft apart and since it is a community we do not have people peeking around. I could see it if we lived in a city where houses are 2feet apart.

Greg, my 90-year-old mother has a theory about that:

"I just KNOW they're they're cooking drugs in there!"

 

my new neighbor likes to throw her clothes.....that she's wearing.....into the stacked washer/dryer , that's right next to a side window.....with no blinds...
at night....with her lights on.................

 

My MIL thinks we are nuts, we don't have anything on most of our windows. We love the light and air flow

that was my philosophy for some time after I moved in here............until I found the ONE person in all of Chicago who DID come back for a second look.........and a third.................I started to be flattered - then I realized that anyone with such a lack of taste was probably not someone I wanted to know.............
