Featured Brass(?) jewlery Box My Grandmother Owned.

    I recently inherited this jewelery box from my uncle, it belonged to my grandmother, it is only stamped "Japan" on the underside, it's heavy, and has a good hinge on it, lined with red felt.

    From the 1960s-70s .Most of these were pot metal,so it might be plated.

    Agreed, that very bright fuzzy lining is a clue.

    Made in a myriad of designs. Usually when you find them you know it’s going to be one of these but they are often interesting looking enough that you have to pick them up to double check. The designs were more interesting than what you’d see today.

    Agree with 1960s/70s... and I'll throw in possibly 80s.
    Similar show up quite frequently at the local thrifts in my large suburban US area.
