<p>[QUOTE="Ladybranch, post: 57826, member: 44"]I vote along with Spring and Davey on probably German. I tried ID'ing the country via the belt buckle, buttons and sword. I couldn't find a German anchor and star combo. Really the only anchor and star combos I could find were for the Soviet Navy and the Ottoman Empire Navy. This is definitely not a Soviet uniform or timeframe. The Ottoman buckle had a crescent under the anchor. The German Imperial Navy buckles I found had the Imperial/Kaiser crown above the anchor - before 1919. The German Weimar Republic Naval buckles did have an entwined anchor and wreath. The problem here is that the Weimar Republic didn't come into existence until 1919 - ***after*** WWI. Under the Weimar Republic the navy was called the Reichsmarine.
