Looks like it's covered with ugly red bumpy paint.

I think this should be in the "weirdest thing I ever found" thread.

Is the first photo the back of the item or the front? If the back, what is on the front?

First photo looks like the front. Looks like boy in cap, wearing mittens, catching snowflakes on his tongue.
    MAYBE !!!

    Are those the two sides??

Also, does this screw to something at the bottom?

It does have the rough impression of a child with mittens and a coat. Or kind of looks like a jack in the box that went through a natural disaster or something.

I can honestly say I've never seen similar.

It does look like Jack in the box!

Those are the two sides. No threading on the base.

    Hi,
Look like it might have been a mold for a rubber Jack in the Box.

That must be why the inside is stamped with a design. Makes sense!

It is common to make a brass/bronze mold for producing rubber or other type of items? But the coated surface and the design make sense for something to be poured in
I keep looking at the base and I think there must be a reason for the side channels.

Other molds seem to have the same channels.

    Hi,
I was thinking it was dipped into the rubber and removed like latex gloves. Not poured into the mold.

Where is this picture with the mold from?

Ok, I think we finally got something, an industrial toy mold. Next step is to find what company used it.

Most of the Ebay pieces seem to be with pretty ambitious prices in my opinion.
Few have sold in the $20-80 range and one Mickey Mouse for $1200. So I guess what matter is the subject and possibly who made it.
