    I have doubts that the lines are faked.

    I see 'grain' in other places besides the bottom. If fake, so elaborately done, I'd value it for that!

    Indeed, grain can be seen on other areas too.
    Any idea what’s the scar on the head?

    Nope, but I'd look him over to see if he has been pieced anywhere.

    I agree, ivory, but it looks as if it grew from two centres.

    The Schreger lines (intersecting) look like mammoth, a sharper angle, less than 90 degrees:
