Your cameo is interesting. It looks to me like a hobbyist's cameo, meaning that it was not carved by a professional cameo carver. Cameo carving as a hobby was an acceptable pursuit in the 19th century. I suggest this for several reasons: 1) the back of the cameo is not smooth or level, so it is unlikely it was carved with the intent of setting it in jewelry, 2) the carving is basic, with lots of straight lines, 3) the carving is not very realistic, suggesting that the carver did not have training in sculpture or anatomy, 4) the subject is not readily recognized, meaning it is not carved to copy an ancient gem or known motif.

I don't think it can be attributed to a known cameo artist. Can you tell us the dimensions of the cameo and how it came to be yours? That might give more clues about its creation and origin.

The images are no longer available, so I can't weigh in, but Pepper's assessment sounds well grounded.
