I love all these little boxes I recently got. Does anyone know anything about them?

Those are gorgeous ! I see several that are guilloche enamel and quite possibly silver. I wonder if the green one is malachite ? No marks anywhere?

You may want to check them for marks. European silvermarks can be tiny, and they can be hidden anywhere. A favourite marks hideout are the rims where the lid closes over the box.

Ok, thank you.. I'll do that today.. I was uploading them on my ipad and it wouldn't let me upload full size images. I'll try doing it from the computer..

 

Inside each one is stamped 800 which I have learned is silver.. why do they appear gold colored though?? i will look for more marks.. there are some.. I'll try to magnify them up as much as possible..

 

Gilded silver. Gold protects the silver from the acids in snuff, etc.
.800 is a very common silver fineness in Italy and some other Continental European countries.

 

I use an iPad. I trim down the pic in Editing on the iPad so you don’t get superfluous stuff . When on the Forum I click upload a file, select my picture then click on Medium on the iPad, then click done and that reduces them down under 1mb.

've been taking pictures this morning and found some markings. Does anyone recognize other little mark next to the 935? This is all the same box. Also, I can't figure out if on the bottom right side if it's a special compartment that could open or if it is maybe a little damaged.. Any thoughts??
