I've taken the liberty of reposting your photograph as Full Image, Jim. That makes it easier for everyone to see. (You'll want to make sure to always do that in the future.)

Charming Craftsman oak early-to-later 20th century magazine rack, but could be used for books, tchotchkes, etc. I assume you've checked for labels. In their absence I couldn't tell you who made it, but I do know that it was common for homeowners to make this kind of thing as a hobby piece; I've owned a smoking stand and a multi-shelved magazine rack from this era. Both were quite well constructed by a neighbor's grandfather or great-grandfather.

Would not put this past being a shop project but a bit more sophisticated than most. There were scores of makers of such things, so finding who made it may be a lost cause.
