CAN ANYONE MAKE OUT ANYTHING FROM SIGNATURE ON 1944 PAINTING?

I found this at a local thrift store. It was marked $19.95 but was half price that day, so when I saw it was done in 1944 I bought it for $10 even though I couldn't make out anything of the signature.
It looks like the signature was done on a logo mark of the paper? Can anyone make it out?
It looks like it may be of a monk?
    Any help would be appreciated.

I like it, its is intriguing.
That's what it looks like. Sorry, can't read it either.
Could be, a monk of a mendicant order like the Franciscans maybe?
