    - It looks like WILMOT but I can not find any similar sterling marks? Maybe American? Thanks.

I am going through all the Wilmot marks now but haven't found anything yet - There are several companies both British and American?

When I zoom in it almost looks like WILMO.(with a cameo)? But I cannot tell it almost looks like a ghost image of a cameo?

    Definitely not British.

The only similar name I found in Rainwater is WILMORT as in Wilmort Mfg Co who made both plated and sterling novelties - 1920 - 1930. The way the mark in Rainwater looks (not a photo of a mark) I'm not completely convinced, but it's all I've got at the moment.

Thanks for the help - I have looked before but never found much - Samuel Wilmot Sr. looks close. It even tapers like mine but that would make this early to mid 1800's? The O is way off and the letters in it are more Roman?? I had packaged this up to sell a while ago and I just found it in the closet with some other things I had forgotten about! Thanks again - I'll keep searching.

I will try to get better pics - My hands shake so bad though. I just bought one of those ring lights but I am still not having a lot of luck with it - I'll keep at it!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Could WILMOT indicate the retailer, not the manufacturer?

As Figtree suggests, this is more likely a retailer's mark than manufacturer's, the 19th century coin silver 'WILMOT' marks referenced have, as typical, serifed lettering, unlike the sans-serif font on yours - your piece likely dates to the 1910s-20s...
