This little scruffy monkey is only 2" tall. He has very patchy Mohair fur and is missing an ear. I believe he is a Schuco compact monkey - he seems to have a metal torso with a seam down the center with maybe a little clasp. I have tried gently to pull his head off - that seems to be the way you start the process - but it isn't coming off.
Can anyone confirm my id, and/or help me get him open?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Here's info from a Schuco seller...

The lipstick tube is hidden in its neck and the powder and the mirror are tucked inside its belly. To open the compact area, raise the head about 1/4" so the collar can swing open, and to close, slide the head down to lock the compact. The lipstick should be in the neck area. The arms and legs are mobile, the paws and ears are felt – the size 3-3/4 inches – Circa 1920’s.

    EDIT
That would apply IF it's a Schuco. Might be knock-off? Still, might function similarly. The face doesn't look a whole lot like examples I saw...

Gosh he is so tiny. Looking at the ruler. I can't believe they fit a lipstick and mirror and a puff in there. Definitely the weirdest thing I have seen today. I think he is kind of cute though.

    That poor little thing.

I know, terrible to even contemplate, but I believe a visit to the vet will confirm my opinion.

    Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
