Candlestick age?

    Ok, I see it now. But those threads look like modern machining maybe?

    Probably,though that's not much help in dating. Lathes have been around since way before Moby Dick was a minnow.

    That may be , but I thought it might be an indication of where it came from...?

    or at least narrow it down...

    Metal lathes not as long as you might think....and what about the internal threads on the nut? Made with modern taps? Hard telling I guess with no markings on it.

    I am on the fence with this one. Don't think it is any earlier than Victorian but don't think it is completely modern either. I realize that leaves a lot of years in between but I don't have enough expertise to pin this down further.
