Candlesticks with a little box, what?!

Box for what? The candlesticks have also a mark under. Can someone help me with more information? What country/company?

    I think it's a match holder with striker on top. They're very nice.

    The picture of the mark is upside down and needs to be turned to be read. ?

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    The larger print in the middle starts with LW.....that's all I can make out...... have you unscrewed that back compartment to open it yet????? Could they be French or English?

    EDIT: I tried going in the opposite direction....a "smoothing" direction: don't think it helped much.....

    I did try, believe me!! I think I've tried ever filter & adjustment I know how to use.....there's just not that much that I can bring out!! Sometimes the color changes helps along with other adjustments, but not here!!!:sorry::(
