    Hello all,
I found this what I'm assuming is a candy dish with paintings of strawberries and flowers on it at an antique fair recently. It is glass and has no maker's mark that I can see. The color reminds me of opaline glass, but I don't know if it is. Can anyone help me to identify it?

    Thanks for looking!

    It's very attractive!
Is the upper rim...and perhaps the lower edge of the cover...ground?
The knob (knop?) looks hand-formed...as do the body & cover.

I don't think they are ground, because they have rough edges. Here are pictures.

Both are ground (thanks for the extra pics) but not polished. That's a very attractive piece of glass!

it doesn't have the opal glow I would expect of opaline - I think it's more in the genre of blue milk glass

It's lovely but I, too, think it would be considered blue milk glass.
Am not sure that it's not reflections, but in addition to color, it has a certain unevenness to the tone.

I normally would not go for paint glass although I sell it. But that piece I would keep. It is quite striking and very "cheerful".

The unevenness is from reflections. It is so hard to accurately capture some blues and certain greens with my setup. I need to fiddle with the editing a bit to get it exactly right. But I agree I think it is probably milk glass. Thanks!
