Thanks Bosko! High desert boonies is right!
They have more tumbleweeds than people down there.

It may have been in style when they did it. As for wearing it, good idea!

I looked around a bit and saw some Cartier marked flower brooches with this lever clasp where the sellers said 1940s. That still seems late to me for that clasp, but I understand the style screams later in the century. Neither seller is one of note that I would trust so more research needed I guess. Those clasps just aren't as secure as rollover and I have plenty of rollover from 20/30s so I don't see why Cartier would use them so late. In fact, their brooches seem to use a fancy rollover clasp that looks like they designed it.

We took a fair amount of back roads between Abiquiu,Lamy and Taos, and there's some cosmically beautiful country out there-lonely but downright spiritual.
PS-We also went to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs before it got restored and drank a bit of the arsenic water.

Hope it turns out to be Cartier! If it's gold, you've got a major score either way. :singing:

You lucky girl!!!:woot::woot::happy: Not just a great name, but a very well made and elegant brooch.

The arrow mark is nothing to worry about imo. It would be the maker's mark. I have seen it before, believe it is a German maker, possibly Pforzheim.
French designers are known to have had their jewellery made in Pforzheim or by other German makers. For instance Grossé made jewellery for Dior.
Whoever made it did an excellent job.:)

    Indeed- Amazing discovery Stracci !
Ojo Caliente is where Robert Altman shot '3 Women' (Shelley Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Janice Rule) in 1977.

So in doing more research, I have seen the crescent arrow mark attributed to Henry Blank and Co. They were affiliated with Tiffany, Cartier and others.
    So it's a firm "maybe" , Ha!

Can you contact Cartier on this? Maybe they can answer the question on the clasp.

My fingers and toes are crossed for you that it is indeed Cartier :D
