Hi everyone and @komokwa Can you identify this 15" tall carved totem pole? I think it is carved from soapstone; it is very cool to the touch. It is not signed. On these hot days, it is nice to hold against my skin to cool down. It is 100F outside; lucky that my a/c is working. I hope everyone is staying inside and keeping cool. Thanks for the help!

    Wow........
not something I'm used to seeing...
it has old Haida images , but to say it's Argillite , with that rough finish, I'd need to have it in hand !
The bear face in the middle is throwing me off...

    Where did u get it.........
can I get a pic of the base , face on , & the feet standing on the base?

That's a parrot, isn't it? Perhaps it's Peruvian, like this one. So the seller says. eBay Item # 257382356126.

That's a parrot and a jaguar. Here's a Pachamama figure from a Peruvian sales website.

I'd agree, not NW Coast, though it does bear some resemblance, and I've seen a number of very similar carvings sold on ebay as NW Coast.
    I'd say South American.
