    Hi folks

found this sweet little box in a charity shop tother day along with a few jewelry pieces and others. the charities have been quite decent recently. prices seem to have dropped and people dont seem to be buying anything
the amber necklace was all of £1.50 (been restrung on nylon)
    the tiki? pendant £2
cuff is only costume, but the glass is nice
a few nice vintage threads as well which i dont seem to be able to find anymore

    any info or comments appreciated

    Great finds, charlie.
The sides of the box looks like those piano key frames.
Not a Tiki, but a Pikorua. It represents life's path and the strong bond between loved ones, no beginning no end but forever.

It looks like it could be genuine Maori. Of course the Chinese have been faking these, but this one could be the real deal.

the only label inside is this, doesnt really look like a makers tag
nice colour though i thought, and do like a thin corduroy

the suede is jofama sweden which i havent come across before, but seems to be quite a good make

it fits like an absolute glove though, thats why i bought it, such a nice cut

70s safari jacket i would think

That nice cuff is almost certainly by a pforzheim maker, based on the registered mark and the quality.

Looks old hat now but... In the day, pants suits were revolutionary. There were many, many restaurants where a woman in that outfit wouldn't be allowed to enter and be seated. (And if she was, her menu wouldn't have prices and her male companion would order for her. "The lady would like...")

The box is from the same time period as the miniature "piano Key" framed pictures. 1950's or 1960's I believe. The brass elements that make up the cover were also very common on brass picture frames of the same era. Wonderful even if it's not very old. And your necklace, re-strung with knots between the beads will be stunning when finished.

I'd be busy restringing that amber but would leave the jade alone. OTOH I'd wear the smoking jacket to church if I could fit into it.(LOL) Some of the survivors are pretty bitty.
