Got this at an auction recently. I took the movement to a clock repairer who dated it 1890-1910 but unfortunately can't repair it.

I've checked the Handbook of Pottery and Porcelain Marks but can't find a match to that on the base of this clock. nouveau clock.JPG nouveau clock 5.JPG nouveau clock 6.JPG nouveau clock 7.JPG Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome!

Your clock case is French faience, I believe from Desvres. I believe the mark is oriented like your last photo. The links to the very best site to find marks no longer works.Try looking at Fourmaintraux marks.

This site has some to look through.

I think you've nailed it! I think the mark has two stylized 'f's for Formaintraux Freres. There is a piece on Etsy and another on eBay with the same mark and that attribution. And I think that picture is of the same shape as my clock, again confirming Formaintraux. Clever you!

Thank you so much. I'm off to research Formaintraux now.
