I remember that I posted some material that is very close to this and someone told me me possible Chanel material . This coat does not have any labels or any area where it looks like a label was once was. Any ideas on this maker or anything ?

    Thank You

Hand woven by the look of it, with beautifully hand made buttons and button holes, handstitched edges. Someone took a lot of trouble. The style is 1960s. It might possibly be Welsh blanket or Irish tweed - something like Avoca. Not Harris, the weave is too open.

Attractive, Billy, but nothing to do with Chanel.

Many of the Irish and some Scottish hand weavers used sort of stick on labels, and I bet that is what this had once. Looks reversible.

Keywords should also include oatmeal, for the colour. Other than the black, the wool looks undyed, too and possibly hand spun. It's a buttoned cape style, blanket stitched edges, which are handsewn, hand made buttons and openings.

This is Avoca, which is the sort of thing I'm thinking of: https://www.avoca.com/en
