Edit: the Chinese collecting group on Facebook says it’s Japanese.

This belonged to my great grandmother who collected antiques (it was likely antique when she purchased it).

I don’t collect Chinese items and know nothing about them.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Even a search term would be helpful!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I rotated & lightened the mark, but not sure if I have it right side up or NOT?? If it needs turning, tell me which way!!!

I am not sure on the mark as I have yet to find it in my books but it certainly looks Meiji period, and Japanese. Is the decoration completely hand painted or is there any sign of it being transfer printed, such as the central dragons?

It should be like this and appears to be Korean (not Japanese nor Chinese).

I’m not entirely sure, but to me it looks like a combination of transfer and hand painting.
For example, the bottom is clearly hand painted.

It has that stenciled look that I have seen on usually Japanese wares from the early 20th c. But Ce BCA identified the mark as Korean. I don't know when it was made, but stands to reason that likely approximately the same period as the Japanese.
