Featured Chinese Bowls - Hey Blooey

    Blooey, you have done pretty well on determining age on some of my Chinese things. What about these bowls?

    These are Japanese.

    What makes you say that? They look like domestic Chinese to me, but I could be wrong of course.

    Well the Japanese do (or did) use Chinese characters, is it the style of calligraphy that leads you to believe these pieces are Japanese?

    Domestic Chinese wares can often be marked in rather an odd manner so I didn't really pay much attention to the marks - I judged the wares on the construction, impurities and paste rather than the mark, but if I'm wrong I'd be happy to change my mind. It is just an opinion after all.
