    Hi all,
I'm not sure if this would be export silver, only marked Wang Hing. It is 5"L x 1 1/4", some sort of buckle?
    any information appreciated
    thanks for looking:)

Pretty! I love the two very different shapes.
It does look like half a buckle.

It's certainly a buckle half, but it's HUGE.

thanks bear:) I think huge too. From the pattern design, I thought it would be used horizontally, but with the 'buckle' part it would have to used diagonally? Or maybe not a belt buckle but for something else?
I have been looking but not finding anything similar to this

5”! I’d missed that vital bit of info. That’s huge for a clothing buckle, you would do yourself a mischief on it!

1913-11-dress1.jpg In the nineteenteens and twenties soft long fabric scarves were used as belts and looped through buckles of this type. Other type belts also featured similar tread-through buckles.
First two images are of dresses from 1913, the last image shows two 1920's dresses.

Cool piece! I seem to remember that maker being highly collected! I guess I could have the name mixed up but it rings a bell.

Only Wang Hing??!:greedy::dead::playful::kiss: One of the most famous names of Chinese Export Silver. You can never have too many Wang Hing pieces, and this one is very stylish.
Pity it is only half a buckle though, but someone out there will have the other one, and will want this one. Trouble is, how do you find the owner of the other half.
I have a Wang Hing buckle, but it still has both halves, so I can't help you.

You could attach it to the flap of a clutch handbag with a wide elastic with just enough pull to hook it over a slot on the lower part of the bag. something like this:
