image.jpeg image.jpeg Looking at two of these Chinese or Japanese vases to buy and I usually stay away from Asian porcelain,to many fakes. But I would like your opinion on these. They are about 15 inch tall. No mark that I can see unless it's under that piece of paper. Buy or stay away? TIA sorry just 2 pictures but that's all I could get to load on my iPhone.

The problem I have with oriental porcelain is that it is very difficult to be certain when an object was made and I doubt strongly that I will ever have sufficient expertise in a field where copying old styles and marks is normal and where fakers are active and increasingly expert.

FWIW my gut feel is that your vase is modern.

In my opinion, more recent. The enamels appear to have chemical pigments that were not used on antique pieces. The drawing style is also modern.

I only see one vase - the pink one.
I agree a more current item.

Try looking up Macau vase to see if you find something similar.

This one isn't the same shape or motif, but has that thicker enameling that I see often on the macau vases like the OP's.
