The second one appears to me to be Cinnabar

Let me confuse the situation a bit more...the first one could be cinnabar, as well.

Your recent pictures are not well enough lit to show the details. This last looks like inside is blue? Plus - we always need to see the bottoms.

The snuff bottles if anyone is interested. There are close ups of these. snuff.jpg

I can get more pictures at another time. These were just pictures to catalogue the items before boxing them up. We numbered, described and boxed and moved on.

    The Cinnabar vases look older.
    Looks like blue enamel inside.
The fact that you have a matching pair increases any value. Depending on how old these might bring good money if sold through the correct venue.

    Wait for others to comment.

We need better pictures. One of the base as well.

As the others have said, we need more and better pictures.
The beautiful red vases have the right colour for genuine cinnabar lacquer. But we need detailed shots of them to see if they are indeed real layered and hand-carved cinnabar lacquer, or repros.
The white vase is a resin repro of so-called white cinnabar lacquer. Cinnabar is red by definition. These resin 'cinnabar' items started to appear in the mid twentieth century. There are earlier repros, but they are different again.

Would love to see the snuff bottles as well, and please, not backlit. Backlit means seeing the outline but no detail. We already know what shapes bottles can be.:playful:
