Chinese (?) vases

At least they were advertised as such. I did not pay much at auction for these, seeing as they both have similar small chips from the rim. I'm more asking what they are, and from when. The uneven coloration makes me think they are / were not anything special, but I'm still a newbie, so thanks for any help!

Ah, it was a free sign up, and the vase didn't sell, with an estimate of $350-500.
