Christmas ornament old or new?

    New. The fire polished opening is the sign.

    I was going to guess new just because the glass is so thick & ornament probably too heavy to hang on the more slender branches of a tree. Antique ornaments that have crossed my path have been feather-light (& often use feathers); modern art glass ones I have all have to be installed on lower, sturdier limbs, within cat-batting reach.

    Some of the old kugels were pretty thick too, but they were made differently. The antique family pieces hiding in my basement can be paper thin.

    It is really thin and its weight is very light
