Thanks! Looks like it may have had a bale or sling handle. I don't recall if your original post had dimensions, but it looks like about the right shape an' size for a Chestnut flask. All of mine, tho', have a ring handle...an' none of 'em are covered.

 

Whittier-Sorry for my ignorance-what's a chestnut flask-are they both old & new (still made ?).

 

I thought I had pics of a couple of 'em...but can't find, so I'll fill your request soon as I take a few more. If they're still being made, I'm unaware...they're 18th & 19th C glass, I believe.

 

Whittier-I'll google & google lens my bottle,would love to find a woven 18th century.
