Hi!....This is a Thrift store purchase....its a vintage Cinnabar Vase....I'm not sure whether it is from China or Thailand?...Its a very dark brown color with black inlay/ ground, the mouth of the vase is bronze I believe and has a dark rich patina, its approx. 12in ht x 5.5in wth,...there are a couple of character marks on the bottom.... rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_003.jpg rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_006.jpg rsz_saki_set_and__peking_teacup__set_006.jpg rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_007.jpg rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_008.jpg rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_002.jpg rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_014 (1).jpg rsz_thailand_chinese_brown_cinnabar_vase_017.jpg

It is a resin copy of a Chinese lacquer vase. Cinnabar lacquer is the reddish lacquer.
There is a market for resin repros.

It looks like you have laid in wet grass - the droplets are a little confusing. But the clues are in your second to last photo - the little hole/pit on the otherwise smooth band near the top of the photo, and what looks like a mold line running vertically through the design. These are signs the piece was cast in a mold. Genuine lacquer is built up in layers and carved, not cast.

There have been several discussions of lacquer and cinnabar on the forum. You can search for those terms to find the posts.
