Coalport hand painted plates

I picked these up about a month ago and have just let them go for a lot less than I thought they were worth. I paid £4.50 each for them and managed to sell for £14 a piece. At least its a profit. If you research the artists, their pieces can fetch a whole lot more. Pinter, Lear, Cooke. Maybe the current market has a hand in it or maybe the subject matter? Are scenes of Wakefield so desirable? Maybe the age? 1980's. The gold accents on them looks like you could scape them off with your finger nails and roll them into a ball they look so thick.

Pity about the broken one. I still have it and not sure if I should try and restore it or see what the value of the gold is.
