    I bought this yesterday. It's a bonny little item. I have found one similar online but not sure if the description is accurate. It is described as Shakudo. However on searching for this, I have discovered that shakudo is an alloy of copper with a small percentage of gold. On contact with copper acetate it turns a black/purple colour finish. I am guessing that they use this as the back ground in damascene metal wear. I cant see any evidence of this on my napkin ring.

    The piece on Worthpoint has the same signature as mine but doesnt seem to say what it is.

    Ø = 4Cm
