Hi guys, is there anyway to find out a maker on this vase? The pattern is quite distinct.

The moulded word to the base says
    "Tchécoslovaquie" (Czechoslovakia in French)

That's going to be one of the Sklo Union factories I suspect with that base. Although, using the country name in French is more typical of 20s and 30s pieces. Hm. Might be Beranek.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know much about glass and didnt expect such a fruitful answer. It looks like your answer is very close but after going down the rabbit hole as far as I can, I cant find this exact vase.

Of all the Sklo Union vases I've seen the past two days I have seen anything with explicit art deco designs. They seem to all have been designed with the 60's and 70's very much in mind. And Im glad you've seen earlier examples with marked countries, it will narrow the search.

Ill keep trying, thanks for the clue.

If you're on Facebook, there's a couple of decent specialist groups for Czech Glass and for Art Deco Pressed Glass. Might be worth an ask.

Our very own living legend @TallCakes can find the shape and pattern number in a single bound!

While I had seven pages open, flipping around the internet, he knows exactly where to go!

That is impressive. Maker, Pattern no. and other examples. Thanks for looking.

I think I'm more inclined to keep it rather than sell it, now I know whose it is. I only paid £20 for this one and it's an imposing vase for so little.

    8"/21cm x 4. 5"/12cm and 1233g is as precise as I can get.

Pretty sweet trick, finding that! I'd keep that too, probably.
