Daily Bread Wood Carved Tray

    Bread boards (for cutting bread) often had this motto but with that center medallion I would guess that it is a serving tray, as you suggest. Madeleine at the antique breadboard museum may be able to offer some help. She knows a fair amount about the breadboard carvers of the past, as well as the woods most commonly used.
    I enjoyed visiting her home-based museum this past April. :)

    We have 2, in French, a round one and a long one. Our daughter has a French one and a German one. I love old ones and I remember in the boom years for selling, they made really good prices. Yours is a really nice one.
