Just glass and base metal but do they indicate a likely decade please?
    Around 2cm top to bottom.
    Thankyou

    1950s/60s.
I would wash them and glue two rhinestones on.

Or take the two off that don't match.

Thankyou. I thought they were unusual but may be very common!

Will do!. Likely to be English or just unknown?
I think I will take all the bottom ones off and replace them.
Do you think it matters if they get quite wet when I wash it?. I know some stones don't like it.

There are a lot of people on the board who don't like to get old glued jewelry wet.

Me personally, I don't want to wear other people's sweat. If it falls apart, I fix it or use the parts for other jewelry. If it can't be fixed, it probably wouldn't have held up anyway.

Do wait for others to comment before you do anything.

Very pretty, K. I wouldn't be surprised if they were English. @Ownedbybear ?
You're right, but these aren't stones in the traditional sense. Foil-backed paste doesn't like it either.

Getting rhinestones wet can cause the foil backing to deteriorate and lose all its reflective properties, in that case you would have dead rhinestones. Never get rhinestones wet!

You can clean the earrings with a soft toothbrush barely moistened with alcohol and immediately dry them with a hair dryer. The fast evaporation should be safe for the rhinestones.

That is why I use alcohol a lot. On jewellery that is.:playful:

Might well be from our neck of the woods, I have similar ones. And yes, 1950s.

I use vinegar if I want to get human remnants off: it's great at removing gunk and sweat and crud. If you're careful, dip the clip side and just wipe over the rest. The fronts would probably take a wee bit of spray window cleaner on an old toothbrush.
