This was just posted to Facebook marketplace at a ridiculously low price if it were a period original. This is the only picture and I have my doubts. The prototype for this would be French. The seller states this is Czech. The workmanship just doesn't seem right to me. The ironwork is a bit heavy, and the finish work seems sub-par. I do not know of these lamps being reproduced but who knows? Any opinions? This is about 40 miles from me so I can't just run over and have a look.

Thanks! Have seen several examples of this exact lamp you have posted, selling as originals. Nice to see confirmation that it is a reproduction, as I wasn't sure about it. The workmanship on it is better than the one I have posted but still not as good as true deco examples.

I think your instincts are right on this Brad. It's looks a tad too 'clunky' to be Daum or Edgar Brandt.
Seems similar ones have asking prices up to $1700. The one AJ posted seems a fair price for a modern craft piece- that is until a few containers arrive from China:arghh: ?

The fact that the one AJ posted is listed as a reproduction seals it for me. At $50, it is not a bad price, but I don't really want a reproduction.

.... Also, not seeing any originals with a cage-blown shade quite like this.

What would give me pause is the patination. It's exactly the same everywhere, which wouldn't be true if it was old unless someone monkeyed with it.
