Hi, Happy New Year!!! Am I the only one sitting at home? Anywhooo... I purchased this from the estate of an older gentleman that served in Japan. He brought this and many other collectibles, plus his lovely wife back from overseas. They were selling their house and downsizing and I was lucky enough to get to talk to them and purchase some of their nice items. I was thinking this was Awaji but I have not been able to find any evidence that they used red clay? or whatever the material is. I was also not able to find anything in this shape or even near it. This piece does appear to be older. Do you think it is just in their style? Any and all opinions are welcome!
