Does anybody Know about Baskets?

There is an auction coming up with a "lot" of Baskets I see what I think might be some valuable old ones, but I know very little about baskets. The ones that caught my eye are the 5 in front, 3 Miniatures on the left...(Nantucket?) and the 2 larger ones on the right. Can anybody offer some insight?

If you know very little about baskets you should stay away from them....
that said...

I'd add the two North eastern Appalation buttocks baskets to my collection in a heartbeat....( front row , two at far right..) without paying more than $ 200 each.
They have age ....many ribs , and look in fine condition.
The lighter ash buttocks ..2nd row 2nd from right , I'd pop for $120 ...in excellent condition only.
The dark round basket inside the largest one , North east splint basket...I'd take in for $50 to $75 , depending on condition.

The 3 mini's , 2 look Nantucket..(I can't see well enough to know age , or quality..) I wouldn't buy unless they go for a song !

The other baskets also look North Eastern USA, and wouldn't interest me for more than $35 ...in great condition.

My thoughts could change ...having larger pictures...or having them in my hand.
This is just my thoughts on collecting.

Condition is everything.

 

Thank You Komokwa......They will be going as one lot and I expect them to go pretty cheap. I appreciate you taking the time to give me your input. I know just enough about baskets to be dangerous LOL.

That will discourage many buyers & you may be able to slip in under the radar !

You can tell I'm a basket novice. These are the only too I own. Neither is very Impressive, although the first one is VERY BIG and i used to use it to keep magazines in.
