The rib front forming a panel was a common design for these. The diamond design on the panel is a bit different but not out of the ordinary. Looks like the candlecup may have been resoldered on a couple of times. With no ledge or sides to form a drip pan around the candlecup still there, is sure evidence that it has had yearsssss of wear and tear.
