    I am looking for information about this Berkeley Square dresser or vanity. It at one time must have had a mirror with it, but I have never had it. Looked on line but didn't fine anything with the same design or the handles.

    With the arrangement and size of the drawers, I would expect it to be a desk. Do you have a picture showing where the mirror you think it would have had was attached?

    It gives me the feeling that it's an art deco desk, but it's late, maybe the 40s, or made after the art deco model in the 50s or later...I'm just guessing :happy: and may i ask what Berkeley Square means ? I just found that is a square in England ? So the desk is from that area?

    I think it is a kneehole desk and from the extra picture shown it would have had a raised back or what is known as a gallery.

    I can go either way on this one. Desk if it had a gallery rail. Vanity if it had a mirror. Those squareish drawers in the pedestals are more typical of a vanity. A desk would usually have at least one shallow drawer at the top of each side.

    Feeling like this is a vanity, especially given the ledge in back. I'd guess the mirror rested there and strips of wood secured it to the back. It's definitely in the shape of a desk, though.
