    Hi Every and Anyone,

I have a Drexel desk single drawer that I am not sure what it is worth. I also do not know the model. Any help would be appreciated.

I was using it as a table but I am pretty sure it is a desk.

    Welcome, Ruben.

Can we have dimensions, please? Frankly, looks more like a table to me as well. And it have been painted by the shabby chic crowd. Are there any places underneath or on the drawer sides where the wood is visible?

Your title says 'dresser', your description says 'desk'. I still think it is a table.

I think you have the length and width numbers reversed. It may be 38" from left to right in the picture, but that is normally the length. Distance from front to wall should be called Depth not width.

And I still think it's a table too. A desk would have much more storage than just single drawer.

All I can make out in the upside-down image is TRADITIONAL and the DREXEL name. Can you give us the Model No. so one of our crack researches can work their magic?

Ruben, the "2-58 or the last digit my be a 3. (2-53)" part of the number is indeed the date of production - in this case, FEB 1958 OR FEB 1953.

According to this 1956 Drexel ad (which is very hard to read - this image is not clickable, but it doesn't enlarge well, anyway) the American Traditional line had "64 charming," different pieces(!) and was made of "native hardwoods" and some pine.

In truth, I don't think it much matters what the table model is called... Sadly, I also don't think the style is much in demand these days, and I doubt it has significant monetary value.

I really appreciate your help with this. I am going to still be looking for the 64 different pieces to see which one is mine. I would appreciate the help if you are interested.

Ruben, if I come across anything, I'll let you know! I imagine that finding old Drexel catalogs from the 1950's would be your best bet.

    Best of luck!

That's what I am trying to find now. I appreciate the help. I would like to restore it to mint condition so a point of reference would be nice.

Do you know what 403-4 is in reference to?
