    hi folks

think this was a good boot sale purchase at the weekend. found a stack of rolled up vintage posters, could see there was some good names in there (stones, zeppelin etc)

offered the guy 20 for the lot and he accepted

most seem to be early 70s atlantic record comany promo album posters
on the back they have details of other albums available by atlantic

some are by other record companies

not been able to find other examples of the exact posters

how do you think these posters were distributed ?, sent to record shops ?

    any thoughts or info appreciated

    i counted 25 of them

I absolutely had the Bette Midler poster ! I was mad for her back then. Those have to have a market,I certainly felt nostalgic looking at them. The Pointer sisters were also huge favorites.

Someone worked for Atlantic Records. Suspect the other labels were small ones distributed by Atlantic. Manticore was, for instance. From 1973-1975. Love "Also available on cassette & cartridge."

I'm guessing the Crosby Stills Nash and Young and the Yes one are very collectable too. Not to mention the Stones.

Yeah got lucky on some good names there

The band beneath Bette midler is a Steven stills band as well I think

Would have loved a van Morrison one !

Thing the Grateful Dead is where the $$ would lie. Still have a cult following.

The thing that goes against them is that a lot of them don't have the band names or album titles in them

That's what's good about the yes one

Truth is... It's the concert venue posters that are the most desirable (I think.) These were produced in quantity. Those in much smaller numbers and considered disposable once the event was over. And 1973-ish getting a bit late.

Nice. Many years ago I found a Yes band belt buckle. Sold it for $75
Much good luck with those retro fun finds.

Yeah, I particularly love raybans, got quite the collection, especially the vintage us Bausch & lombs

Orions are a bit like the classic wayfarer but more rounded and rarer
