This would be right in the wheelhouse of @springfld.arsenal ... can you kindly post pictures of the entire cannon?

Hi, nice cannon, definitely looks like it was made in the year indicated. We get so many replicas here, it is really nice to see an old one. Would like many more photos, full size please. Also want measurements of the tube, total length, bore diameter. I’m guessing that one is small, like a family salute cannon. Any marks underneath? You can always send it to me for a full free analysis! Return postage not required.:troll:

The cannon breech pictured looks more Dutch than any other nationality. Photos of more of it should tell. I can’t tell whether the LC is connected to the family that ordered it, or the bronze founder who made it. I’ll look in some books.

Do you know anything about the history of the cannon?

I’m pretty sure based on the decoration and marks, it was privately commissioned and owned, meaning non-government, and non-VOC.

After you have taken the additional photos we need, bring a magnet near the breech and pass it all around that area. You should find three or four areas, equally spaced around the breech, where there are steel chaplets embedded in the bronze. Sometimes they’re visible to the eye and sometimes they’re fully covered by bronze, but they can’t hide from a magnet.

    Hello
    Thank you for the answers.
I just bought this barrel from a antiques dealers in the north of Germany.
It is still on the way to my home. After it will arrive I post the measurements.
The history is totally unknown and the dealer couldn't tell anything.
The barrel has about 1 meter length and the caliber is about 5 cm.
    Weight is around 100 kg.

I’d call it a generic 17th C. European bronze cannon design. It lacks dolphins on top, a feature of most other similar cannons, large and small. Leaving dolphins off would lower the original cost of the cannon, and would make it slightly less valuable now. Look closely at top center to see if it once had dolphins that perhaps due to damage were removed.

interestingly there are a few crests around with a basket that belong to cardinals.
